Bedbugs are wingless insects that are about one-quarter inch in length, oval but flattened from top to bottom. Thus, the bedbugs cannot fly but they are capable of running quite rapidly. They spend the day in cracks walls, furniture, or behind wallpaper, where they are difficult to find. At night, they come out and bite any parts of the body that are not covered and suck the blood. The bites are usually on the hands, arms, and face. Bedbug bites are tiny and painless but may turn red and itch fiercely in response to the bug’s saliva. But some people do have serious reactions to bed bug bites.

When controlling bed bugs, the most important part of the procedure is inspecting the room and finding all of their hiding places. If the infestation is extremely heavy, you may wish to contact a licensed professional bed bug exterminator. Look on your phone book or ask your friends to find experienced exterminator.
