These races take place all over the world. Motocross races are segmented by laps or time periods. Most professional motocross racers ride factory bikes. Dirt bike for motocross races must be lighter and have better suspension or shock absorbers.

At motocross events, drivers race at high speeds around dirt or mud tracks. A motocross track usually starts with a long, straight piece of track that leads into the first turn. Motocross riders fly through the air after going over a jump. Almost every jump on a motocross track has a turn before it.
