When you consider online dating, it is important to remember you need to be safe. You’ve probably heard horror stories in the news about dates gone horribly, horribly wrong in one way or another.
To be safe, don’t give out your home or work phone number until you have exchanged e-mails at least a half dozen times. If you want, you can even do a background check on the person before you go out on the date. When you feel you are ready to meet in person always meet in a safe place that is open to the public during a busy time of day. It is also important to make sure somebody knows where you are.
