4Cosmetic surgery is a growth industry in the United States. In the past few years, there has been a small but steady increase in the number of men having cosmetic surgery. As the population becomes more accepting of plastic surgery, men are getting more comfortable having cosmetic procedures.

Men are choosing some uniquely male forms of plastic surgery to create a muscular, masculine image. Liposuction, in which pockets of fat are suctioned from the body to improve the contour of the face, neck, trunk, or limbs, is the most common cosmetic surgery procedure performed on men.

Besides liposuction, rhinoplasty (nose reshaping), breast reduction, and eyelid surgery are also very common. Further, men are having hair transplants to cover receding hairline or bald spots; opting for laser surgery to remove acne scars or eliminate excessive hair growth in the chest or back.
